  • Two pairs of partridges, Brovkina and Podkovkin, bring out twelve chicks. Podkovkiny get acquainted with a lark, and both Brovkin's falcon kills. Podkovkin's wife, Orange Neck decides to adopt chicks as her own. In the autumn, she leads to a meeting of partridges, twenty-four chicks, and she is chosen as the main chicken.
