  • On the morning of December 14, 1825, representatives of the best noble families, guards officers, - the throne of the throne ! - led troops to the Senate Square and began a riot against the emperor. By evening, after unsuccessful negotiations and several artillery salvos, everything was over. The organizers of the uprising were convicted on charges of high treason. Five are hanged, the rest are sent to hard labor.
