  • At the fair, artists (buffoons and a bear in a green cap and medals) in their presentation deride the general, for which they are immediately expelled from the city. Late in the evening they are picked up by a peasant on a sleigh and brought to the nearest tavern. While people are warming and having supper, the bear protects the cart, but accidentally scares the horses, and they break away, carrying it away from the owner and coachman.
