Homeless vet Duffy (Grillo) meets talkative ex-con Max (Phifer) after a bar fight. Max hires Duffy for underground fight clubs, earning big. They travel to LA to atone and pay a crime boss (Mulroney). Duffy forms a bond with Max's sister Rachel. Duffy wins fights but faces unwanted attention, leading to crime world entanglements, including with Sage's partner, Officer Ellen Ridgway. The deeper Duffy goes, the deadlier it becomes.
