  • Chun-hyang is the beautiful daughter of a kisaeng who lives with her mother as her father has moved away and died. She falls in love with Mong-ryong, the son of a wealthy yangban. Mong-ryong’s father doesn’t approve of the relationship between the two because of the girl's lower class status. The lovers marry secretly but can’t make their liaison public.
